Meet The Author

About the Author: Darius Myers

Darius Myers is an American novelist and the creator of the Black Camelot series, an ongoing, seven-book thriller saga that has been recognized by Kirkus Reviews as a "lively thriller series". His work, noted for its "spectacular character and plot-driven storytelling," captures the high-stakes intersection of wealth, corporate power, and dangerous conspiracy.

Professional Background & Muse

Drawing on a distinguished career as a New York marketing and media executive—with leadership roles at Fortune, Sports Illustrated, USA Today, and the CBS Magazine Group—Myers infuses his thrillers with authentic insights into the "treacherous infighting" found within the highest reaches of big business. He cites the glamorous and often cutthroat world of media as the primary muse for his writing.

The Black Camelot Saga

The Black Camelot series tracks a group of wealthy Black businesspeople targeted by hate groups, only to be defended by a private army known as the "Society of Protectors". As an ongoing, evolving saga, the series explores themes of social activism, political ambition, and survival in a polarized American landscape.

Critical Acclaim

  • Kirkus Reviews: Has praised the series for its "vibrant, now-familiar characters" and "delightfully mysterious" plot elements, noting that fans of the ongoing series will always find "characters and subplots to spare."
  • Midwest Book Review: Calls the saga "original and riveting," labeling the books "masterfully scripted action/adventure novels" with a special appeal for fans of dystopian suspense and political thriller fiction.

Education

Myers holds an undergraduate degree in communications and journalism from CW Post (Long Island University) and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, where he attended as a Time Warner Scholar.

When not working on the latest Black Camelot installment, he remains a dreamer who still believes in the ability of mortals to fly.
