Synopsis
Black moonshiners in 1930s Jim Crow, South Carolina reside in the fictional coastal outpost of Charles Town. Their habitat is named the Slow Country---and they are prolific producers of the illegal firewater.
Jim Crow workplace limitations of the period are such that moonshining is the most lucrative trade for blacks ---even with the apparent risks. Several Slow Country brands began to gain strong followings and, and even on occasion enjoyed by Charles Towns' elite. It's a reputation also known to blacks in the north and midwest, they are loyal supporters of the Slow Country trade -- but their growing prosperity invokes the envy and wrath of Charles Town’s brutal Klan cops. The success is maddening to the Klan police members who’ll do anything to get the product recipes--especially a bourbon brand that has taken on legendary status.
And anything for them includes murder.
Find out how the drama unfolds in this multi-generation period drama. The Bourbon Will begins in the Jim Crow south, moves back several generations to slavery, and concludes in modern day New York. A masterplan was conceived along the way that makes the owners of the bourbon recipe and others in the Slow Country multi-millionaires; they finally defeat the foes that have continually terrorized their lives.
